The CLI can be accessed via SSH on any base interface, management IP, console, or telnet. It's used for configuring the unit and other tasks like viewing logs, debugs, and files. The CLI has a hierarchical structure with different command groups that can be configured for access by various user profiles, supporting the principle of least privilege. To identify your current hierarchy, type the command PWC (Present Working Context). For instance, the example in the picture shows that I'm in the configuration group. The symbols used are:
1) *
2) #
3) $
4) >
Additionally, here are some useful tips. Similar to other CLI systems,
1) Pressing Tab completes the command. Pressing the space key yields similar results. If two commands start with the same letters, pressing Tab will display all available options.
2) If only one command is possible, type the first few letters and hit enter. The CLI will complete and execute the command.
3) CTRL+C aborts running commands.
4) CTRL+Z clears pending command lines and returns you to the root level, indicated by just the hostname followed by a #.
